The Antwi Group is seeking an Assistant Audio Engineer to support our Audio Engineering Department with recording, editing, mixing, session preparation, and day-to-day studio operations. This position is ideal for a developing audio professional who wants to strengthen their technical skills while working alongside experienced engineers in a professional creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead audio engineers with recording sessions, studio setup, and session preparation.
- Set up microphones, stands, cables, headphones, audio interfaces, and other studio equipment.
- Assist with microphone placement, signal routing, gain staging, and session troubleshooting.
- Record, edit, organize, and prepare audio files under the direction of senior engineering staff.
- Perform basic audio editing, comping, cleanup, and session organization.
- Prepare Pro Tools or other DAW sessions before recording and mixing.
- Maintain accurate file names, session folders, backups, and project documentation.
- Assist artists, producers, musicians, and engineers during recording sessions.
- Help maintain studio equipment and keep recording spaces organized and ready for use.
- Identify and report technical issues involving studio hardware, software, cabling, or signal flow.
- Follow established studio procedures and audio-quality standards.
- Protect confidential and unreleased material belonging to artists, clients, collaborators, and The Antwi Group.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a foundational understanding of audio engineering, recording, or music production. Education or training in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Sound Engineering, or a related field is preferred, although demonstrated practical experience will also be considered.

- Basic understanding of professional recording techniques.
- Familiarity with microphones and microphone placement.
- Understanding of audio signal flow and gain staging.
- Experience with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, or comparable DAW software.
- Basic audio editing and mixing skills.
- Strong organizational and critical-listening skills.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work collaboratively.
- Professional communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively during scheduled recording sessions.
Experience
Previous studio, school, internship, freelance, or project-based audio experience is preferred. Applicants beginning their professional audio-engineering careers are also encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate relevant technical knowledge and practical ability.
