The Antwi Group is seeking a talented and technically skilled Audio Engineer to join our Audio Engineering Department. This position is ideal for an experienced audio professional who understands both the technical and creative sides of professional recording, mixing, production, and sound.
The Audio Engineer will work with artists, producers, musicians, and other members of our creative team to deliver high-quality audio across recording and production projects. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working in a professional studio environment, and capable of maintaining high technical and creative standards throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Record, edit, mix, and prepare professional-quality audio.
- Set up and operate microphones, consoles, audio interfaces, monitors, outboard equipment, and other studio equipment.
- Prepare recording sessions and ensure equipment and signal paths are properly configured.
- Work closely with artists, producers, musicians, and creative teams during recording sessions.
- Edit vocals, instruments, dialogue, and other recorded material as required.
- Perform mixing, balancing, EQ, compression, effects processing, automation, and other audio-production tasks.
- Identify and resolve technical problems involving audio equipment, software, routing, and recording systems.
- Maintain organized session files, project files, backups, and audio assets.
- Ensure recordings meet professional technical and quality standards.
- Assist with studio setup, maintenance, organization, and equipment management.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and productive environment during recording sessions.
- Protect confidential and unreleased material belonging to the company, artists, clients, and collaborators.
Qualifications
Candidates should have practical knowledge of professional audio engineering and recording techniques. Formal education in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Sound Engineering, or a related discipline is beneficial; however, strong professional experience and demonstrated technical ability will also be considered.
Applicants should have experience with one or more professional digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, or comparable production software.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of recording, editing, mixing, and audio signal flow.
- Knowledge of microphones and microphone placement techniques.
- Experience with studio consoles, interfaces, preamps, compressors, EQs, and monitoring systems.
- Understanding of acoustics, gain staging, routing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong critical-listening skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and manage complex recording sessions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines.
- Professional attitude when working with artists, clients, and other members of the production team.
Experience
Previous experience in a professional or project recording studio is preferred. Candidates with a strong portfolio, recording credits, production work, or other examples demonstrating their audio-engineering abilities are encouraged to apply.
